Tea and the Environment

Tea is a massive industry which has a major impact on the environment.

We source our tea from suppliers who are members of the Ethical Tea Partnership Global Standard. The focus is on tea production with concerns about the social and environmental impact inspected by third party independent auditors. This includes fair wages, health coverage, housing and childcare for those living and working on tea estates.

What can you do?

The first change you can make is to stop using teabags.

Teabags contains microplastics and cannot completely decompose making them bad for the environment and bad for you.

Loose tea, is more expensive initially, but the higher quality means it can be rebrewed at least two or three times making it more economical in the long run.

If you must use teabags switch to these brands:

We Are Tea, Tea Tonic, Nature's Cuppa, Teapigs pyramid teabags,  Good and proper tea, Abel and Cole, Nemi tea, Twinings Pyramid tea bags.

Try Pique Tea Crystals.
